What’s for dinner?

by Marla Bozic on July 28, 2015

I’m popping into your inbox quickly today in case you are like me, and wondering what the heck is for dinner tonight!

I know the mention of Pete Evans these days is cause for controversy, yet still I dare, Because well, this one is too good to miss.

Bolognese is a staple for many Australian families and with good reason. Nutrient dense, a family pleaser, easy to sneak extra veggies into and a charm to pop in the freezer. So many wins in my book.

However, if you are like me, and find the pasta/meat combo is a bit too heavy, have the bolognese on a bed of kale instead. Cook the kale in some homemade chicken broth and you are WINNING! I cook a wholemeal pasta for the kids, they can jump on board the kale train when they are ready:). The paleo cheese is a bit overboard for me, so I’m happy to sprinkle with real parmesan. Adjust as you wish:).

Pete’s recipe isĀ here.

Disclaimer, I’m not into labels in general, I’m not a strict paleo advocate and do not avoid grains or dairy entirely, I do tend to feel better on a more paleo inspired way of eating and choose to do so for myself. This is reflected in how I work with clients to consider how foods make them feel so they can optimise digestion, energy levels and weight.

I’d love for you to pay attention to how you feel this week with a view to understanding your body’s quirks and what you can do to ensure you feel your best. Let us know how you go with the Kale Bolognese!
