Who needs health care – the well or the sick?

by Marla Bozic on June 27, 2014

It is said that the Chinese pay their doctors for keeping them well and stop paying when they fall ill. Well, that kinda throws our whole health care model on it’s head, doesn’t it?

Sick care is more expensive than health care, so it makes more sense to focus on preventative medicine, instead of treatable medicine. So, we should be taking action now to improve our health, rather than dealing with health-related issues when they occur.

According to Christiane Northrup, M.D. an influential doctor in America, our illnesses often exist to get our attention and get us back on track.  It’s like our body’s way of saying ‘Hey! Something isn’t right here. Make some changes so I can start functioning better’.

I may not be able to tackle this issue head on for our global village, but as a health coach I can do my part to ensure our families are doing what they can to create a really good holistic picture of health.

I will leave you with a final thought and message:

We pay the doctor to make us better when we are sick, but really we should be paying the farmer to keep us healthy today.

What do you think about the concept of practitioners being paid for keeping people well? Comment below.
